The Faculty of Education is a public institution that carries out higher education activities by organizing teaching and scientific research work through undergraduate (I cycle) and graduate studies (II cycle). The teaching, scientific and scientific research process at the faculty takes place within study groups for full-time and part-time students, through lectures, exercises, consultations, seminars, observation, mentoring, excursions, knowledge testing and other forms. The faculty is the only one in BiH that has study groups for music and art education.

In the time of new social conditions and a new attitude towards higher education, the faculty is monitoring the reform of higher education in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In this sense, we have been since the academic year 2006/07. started enrolling students who study according to the Bologna principles. Undergraduate study in all study groups lasts four years (240 ECTS), except for the Professional Study of Sports, where the study lasts three years (180 ECTS). In addition to the four-year study of the first cycle, the faculty also organizes a one-year undergraduate professional study (60 ECTS).

Students from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as from neighboring countries, study at the faculty. In addition to the 45 faculty employees, about 50 teachers and associates from the Universities of Sarajevo, Tuzla, Banja Luka, Bihać, and Belgrade are engaged in the teaching process, among which are the most famous names in the field of higher education from the former Yugoslavia.

The Faculty, on the University Campus, uses several buildings, reconstructed with its own funds. This is insufficient for the teaching process in all 7 study groups and for over 1000 students. However, it should be noted that the Faculty has modernized the teaching process with its own funds by purchasing and using the most modern audiovisual equipment.

We are aware that modernizing teaching aids, classroom space, increasing the library collection, building laboratories where research and experimental development will be conducted, as well as more intensive scientific research work, are opening the door to a more promising future for this faculty.
