Faculty development mission
Under the auspices of the Faculty of Education, various personnel are competently profiled to perform the responsible profession of educators, teachers, lecturers, professors. The existing potential in the education of various personnel and the ability to monitor reform processes in higher education are imposed by modern social changes. The mission of the Faculty is to ensure quality in the educational process in all three cycles of studies and, in such a constellation of social relations, to improve theory and practice in the field of social, humanistic and natural sciences, which will, with their knowledge and skills, improve educational and educational work in Bosnian and Herzegovina society as well as scientific and research work in the aforementioned areas. The mission of the Faculty is oriented and fulfilled through:
- Values of ethical and socially responsible practice in the education system,
- Expanding knowledge in the field of upbringing and education,
- Adopting modern skills and tools needed for communication on a global level,
- Harmonizing the needs for staff profiles between higher education and the labor market,
- Innovating study programs in all three cycles and in all fields, based on the latest scientific results, the highest professional standards and ethical codes,
- Formation of strong teams of people, experts from practice, specialized and professional staff who will make up the faculty's potential in leading professional projects (domestic and international),
- Organization of domestic and international scientific and professional conferences and consultations and provision of professional lifelong education and training services to interested parties,
- Improving the visibility of the Faculty through scientific research and the opening of the Institute of Natural Sciences and the Institute of Kinesiology, and improving the professional practice of students in all three study cycles.
Vision of faculty development
The vision of the Faculty of Education in Mostar is to become one of the most respected institutions of its kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, a sought-after study program that promotes high ethical values, responsibility towards people, the community and nature. By placing particular emphasis on understanding and respecting diversity, fostering tolerance and a culture of dialogue, the Faculty of Education is open to all students who accept the curriculum, code of conduct and ethics it promotes. The vision for the development of the Faculty of Education is aligned with the vision for the development of the Dzemal Bijedic University of Mostar, which foresees and encourages the development of individual organizational units, as well as the reorganization of the existing structure of the University's organizational units. Keeping pace with the times in which we find ourselves, our goal is to be the leading higher education institution in the field of upbringing and education in our country. The realization of this vision is possible by engaging all components of the institution, which should be open to social, scientific and educational changes, but also an academically autonomous and ideologically independent organization. By rejuvenating staff, innovating infrastructure capacities, good interpersonal relations, a system of incentives and disincentives, praise and rewards for individuals, working in modern conditions, predispositions for a better tomorrow of our Faculty are created. Concrete steps in the realization of the stated vision of the Faculty are:
- Stronger connections with the local community, businesses, schools and individuals,
- To make the best, talented, high-quality young students employees of the Faculty,
- Prioritize startup and project ideas,
- To improve the exchange of students, teaching and non-teaching staff with the aim of international visibility of the Faculty and gaining the necessary experience,
- Permanent improvement of own potentials and strengthening of the institution (investment in education and professional development of own staff and more favorable conditions for own scientific and research work, etc.)
