Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry offers students two study programs . Namely, it is planned that during the first four (4) semesters, all enrolled students will attend and take the same program content. At the beginning of the fifth (5) semester, students choose one of the two offered study programs.
The study program, Chemistry Professor - Bachelor student acquires basic knowledge in chemistry within the first and second years of study. In the third and fourth years, the program offers the student a gradual transition to a higher level of knowledge in the basic areas of chemistry and at the same time prepares students for modern teaching of chemistry in schools. They are prepared to take on and implement all the roles necessary for successful chemistry teaching, which is reflected in applicable and lasting student knowledge, skills and correct attitudes.

In the Bachelor of Chemistry study program, students acquire basic knowledge in chemistry during the first and second years of study, while in the third and fourth years, students are prepared for independent work in laboratories, where they will be able to independently perform various laboratory analyses, prepare analysis results, and process the obtained results using various software. Upon completion of the study, students will be ready to work with researchers and scientists in chemistry and similar fields.

After passing all the exams stipulated in these curricula for undergraduate studies, by achieving 240 ECTS credits , the student acquires the professional title of Professor of Chemistry - Bachelor , or Bachelor of Chemistry . Upon completion of the undergraduate study, the student can continue the master's study (IX and X semesters, a total of 60 ECTS credits), which leads to the professional title (title) of Master of Chemistry in Education , which qualifies the student for independent work in secondary schools of all profiles and in elementary schools, or the professional title (title) of Master of Chemistry, which qualifies the student for the application of knowledge and skills necessary for inclusion in the work process (programs oriented towards practice, various techniques or specific professions).
